Sometimes I wonder if I have an overactive imagination. The reason being: I can feel pain in my dreams that has nothing to do with reality.

It's usually when there's glass in my dreams.
A few months ago I was going through a hard time because of some friend troubles, and I had a dream in which she threw away her heart. It was made of crystal, and so it shattered in to a thousand pieces on the cold ground.
I was really upset, because that is basically what was happening in real life, and so I kept trying to pick up the pieces and give them back to her. All that I managed to do was get my hands sliced open as she ignored me.
And it hurt.

Another case was when there was an explosion in a dream of mine, and I was showered with shrapnel. I could feel the glass and metal bits cutting through me, and stinging when I started pulling them out.
When I woke up soon after, the spots where I had gotten stabbed in my dream were tingling. And I know for sure that they were feeling that way because of the dream, and not that I had that dream because of feeling something in reality.

I've searched on Google, but it seems that most people don't have any pain in dreams at all, and that is a way to tell if you are dreaming. Thus the common pinching of oneself.
Or sometimes they have pain in dreams, but it is related to a pain that is happening to them in reality. Such as a migraine.

I assume the pain must be the product of my overactive imagination.

On a few rare occasions, I've felt pain in my dreams. Once, I was stabbed through the chest with a sword. In that dream, I actually died, and the events of the dream continued without me, which I've heard doesn't usually happen in a dream... O.o
